Railroad Park is located adjacent to a section of the Great River Greenway’s ‘Monarch Chesterfield Levee Trail’ in Chesterfield. Use the Levee Trail parking lot off of Edison. The path switch backs up to the Levee. The Levee is flat, paved and in direct sunlight.
Walk east on Levee to see the entrance to the park/meadow. The park/meadow’s cement access road is a steep incline walking down; and does double duty as a water run off surface.
The 33 acre park is currently undeveloped, and may ultimately be used for passive recreation opportunities. The meadow is large, sprinkled with a few trees and was mowed. The grass was 6-8″ high on Oct 24, 2012. The terrain surface is flat, but the grassed soil underfoot was clodded. Be mindful of where and how you are stepping. — This area is under the flight paths of airplanes coming in to the Spirit of St. Louis Airport.
