TRAIL
The Al Foster Trail is part of the Meramec Greenway and is located in St. Louis County.  Along the trail, you will encounter bluffs, bottom land forest, beautiful views of the Meramec River, and even a miniature train.  It has also recently been extended and future plans are in the works to connect Al Foster to Route 66 State Park and to extend it beyond Castlewood State Park, making it an official segment of the Ozark Trail.

The trail is an easy, flat, gravel and crushed limestone trail with the majority of it being shaded.  The trail is 2.5 miles long from the Glencoe Trailhead to the Sherman Beach County Park for a total distance of around 5 miles out and back.  It has also recenlty been extended.  It is suitable for walking and biking.

DIRECTIONS:
The Al Foster Trail is on Missouri Hwy. 109.

Take I-44 west to Exit 264, MO Hwy. 109.  When you get off I-44, make a right turn. Drive approximately 3 miles north on Hwy. 109 to the stop light at Old State Road.  Make a right on to Old State Road and then an almost immediate right on to Washington.  Washington will become Grand.  Continue on Washington/Grand approximately 0.2 miles.  There is a green wooden sign marking the gravel parking lot at the Al Foster trailhead.
